Picture this: it's the year 2000. Julia Roberts is prom queen, Gladiator does entertain, Steven Soderbergh is nominated twice (and wins for the bad one). The omissions are glaring, the discrepancies are stark. Where is Mary Harron? Who is Mark Ruffalo? And is all really fair for Love &amp; Basketball? Two women needed to discuss.*This episode was recorded 3/26/2023<hr> Hosted on Acast. 2001 - Satine, Descending

Picture this: it's the new millennium. There are movie stars, the box office overflows. The 'sequel' peeks her head over the horizon, she has yet to show us how formidable she can be. Television? We don't truly know her. Any movie stands a chance to make money, but Oscar has her own set of rules. The pomposity! The artifice! The performances of the presenters, the winners, and always, always, the losers. Two women needed to discuss, and they have some notes. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
