Cindy's bio: Hi, I'm Cindy Veldhuis (pronounced veld-hice). I have a Bachelors in Theatre and Psychology as well as a Masters in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Oregon, and a PhD in Psychology (health psychology emphasis) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am currently an associate research scientist at Columbia University and my area of research is on LGBTQ intimate relationships. I also have another area of research focusing on the effects of the 2016 election on LGBTQ individuals and a long-term study on the mental health effects of the pandemic. Outside of work, I love the theatre, making stuff (printmaking, ceramics, etc), and watching way too many DIY videos on YouTube.
