Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke. According to the American Stroke Association, it is the fourth leading cause of death. Yet people can take steps to help prevent a stroke and to reduce the severity of damage once a stroke occurs. In this discussion, Dr. Ray Reichwein, co-director of the Penn State Hershey Stroke Center, outlines the types of stroke as well as their causes, symptoms and treatments.
