Show notes
In the mid-late 90’s something that was on the minds of many was whether or not our planet and civilization was going to make it into the next millennium. With that came an increasing popularity in disaster films. What better plot line than to have the entire human race threatened by Alien invaders, whose sole purpose is to destroy humanity as we knew it. However, these aliens would run into the stopping power of the United States Air Force and their uncanny ability to string together a plan to save the planet in a mere 48 hours. Not only is it the most efficient use of government time and resources imaginable, all of this is accomplished on the very day that the United States forefathers decided to declare their independence from the rule of Great Britain, hence the title INDEPENDENCE DAY. Listen or watch along in this episode as Cody and Zach discuss this popular 90’s film and begin their next series of discussing through stories that deal with alien encounters.Watch the Show on YouTubeBuy Zach’s newest book, Something Strange at Grandma’s House: https://www.steellakestudio.com/booksSign up for our E-MAIL LIST: https://www.steellakestudio.com/emailTIMESTAMPS0:00 Welcome1:00 Grass Cutting Catastrophe11:00 How Many Animals Survive a Litter?18:00 The Independent League Baseball Game31:00 What We are Reading and Watching49:40 1996 State of the World1:04:00 INDEPENDENCE DAY Summary and Stats1:12:30 The Most Efficient the Government has ever been1:14:00 Independence Day was the movie that was always on.1:17:30 The Aliens are not in the Movie all that much1:23:00 The Independence Day Action Figures1:27:50 How Zach Watched it in the Car1:33:34 What do we Think about UFO Sightings1:43:00 Something to Think about with Aliens1:50:00 Why do Aliens always Want to Destroy in Storytelling?1:53:00 What Makes Independence Day Standout?2:06:00 Lasting AppealThank you so much for checking out Parallel Quest.
