On today's episode of Bass Fishing for Noobs, we welcome John Styler to the show. John is a guide on the Susquehanna River and the owner of Snagler Tackle Company, which produces some outstanding tackle, especially spinnerbaits.
Sean happened to catch a seminar John gave at the Great American Outdoors Show in Harrisburg, PA and knew right away he’d be a great guest.
After we introduce John, he gives a little background about how he got started with both fishing and guiding as well as making his own baits. After learning of how he got to where he is today, Sean, Susie, and John then break down throwing spinnerbaits for big river smallmouth! John covers everything from when he throws spinnerbaits from season to season, areas he likes to target, different retrieves, rod and reel choices, blade differences and much much more. John also goes into what makes his spinnerbaits stand out above the rest including a unique way of weighting them so the spinnerbait isn't so front heavy, as well as an amazing selection of colors that imitate some very specific forage.
We finish up the show talking a bit about some of the other baits Snagler Tackle has to offer, as well as where to buy them and where to find more info about John's guiding business.
