P2S President & CEO Kevin Peterson discusses his trip to Seoul, Korea, where he and an IEEE/IEC joint working group sought to finalize global standards for electrical shore-to-ship power. The joint team has been working together since 2008 to develop and maintain international shore power standards for large vessels making transoceanic voyages. Kevin speaks about his role on the team, the process for “balloting” new standards and how they cycle travel to in-person meetings for a team with members from around the world.
