In part one, I'm deconstructing the ideas of law enforcement, as an establishment of oppression rather than protection, who serves only those in power. That's how it's always been with police, even before we were even a nation. As slave patrols gave way to the boys in blue, America's working class has been under the brutal thumb of this social oppression, but moreover, it didn't have to be this way. I'll discuss the men who shaped modern policing in an effort to understand how we arrived where we are today.
