In every episode in Series 2, BBC broadcast journalist Sharon Hartley and Guinness World Record holder Freddie Bennett invite a different guest on to the podcast who have in some way inspired their own alcohol free journeys, from AF authors to inspirational Instagrammers.
In this episode, Shazza and Freddie talk to the person behind one of their all time favourite sober Instagram accounts, Lee Mengo, who is better known as The Gay Sober! Lee talks about how he was a binge drinker, especially when he was going out in the 90s when excess was seen as cool. He also talks about the LGBTQ+ community and the problems that it faces when it comes to alcohol, and how past prejudice (and unfortunately still current prejudice in some parts of the world) can feed in to excessive alcohol consumption.
