The film industry, like most industries, has a long way to go to be a catalyst for anti-racism. A LONG way to go, and a long terrible history to prove it. Mari and Jeff watched 1989's Driving Miss Daisy this week, a skim-the-surface story of 1960s race relations (cough cough Green Book cough), and they talk about why this movie isn't helpful. They also provide some ways for listeners to donate to important causes for the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as film and books that are important to watch/read in this moment of education on the Black experience.
