Todays episode is brought to you by: NGP Equipment Rentals- www.NGPFILM.com******************************************************************************Sound department is an extremely important, but somewhat enigmatic department on the set. So much focus goes on the picture, the framing, the wardrobe, the makeup, the artwork, and then... sound. Oh yeah! You have to hear the movie too! Today we sit down with one of Oklahoma's best and most experienced sound mixers, Kabe Cornell. He has worked on literally every single type of project. Feature films, short films, documentary, live sports, reality, you name it and he's done it. Kabe walks us through the department and equipment, the basics of boom operating, and wiring actors (like Tyra Banks!)Check out some of his work here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFM5plytXZ4https:///watch?v=EakK-UBRfD4Instagram: kabe_cornell_audioFB- https://www.facebook.com/KabeCornellAudio/*****************************************************************SHOW NOTES: 10:00- Sound department overview14:30- Sound equipment overview24:30- Wiring actors28:30- Working around actors32:00- Working with other departments40:00- What bogeys can you get away with?47:00- Dealing with extreme weather49:00- Take care of your back! 57:00- The basics of boom operating1:02:00- Reach out to Kabe!*****************************************************************www.okieshowshow.comwww.youtube.com/okieshowshow@okieshowshowBecome a patron and help us make the show!
