On this episode the gang discusses the 4th studio album from Japanese Dream Pop/Dub band, Fishmans!
Formed in 1987, Fishmans were unknown outside of Japan, but in recent years the band has gained greater recognition and a dedicated cult fanbase thanks to various music discussion boards across the internet. Known for their unique psychedelic sound and the unusual vocals of the late Shinji Sato, the band has cemented themselves in Japanese rock canon with their magnum opus, "Long Season" alongside their live album "98.12.28" being called "one of the greatest live albums of all time" by their fanbase.
Off The Key has decided to dive head first into their discography while exploring the fascinating history of this obscure, but interesting band.
We believe that "Orange" is the best gateway into the world of Fishmans, while also being fairly underappreciated by the fanbase at large.
