Kurt is a retired scientist and life-long guitarist. He has played mostly by ear. He came to me almost two years ago and wanted to learn to play the piano. Since he has played mostly by ear, he has good ears and has a good understanding of basic harmony. We've been working on reading music, as well as expanding his knowledge of harmony and improvisation. It's so much fun to see people grow and develop.
