I haven’t listened to a podcast in ages but this year I’ve become addicted to Ellen - and Ellen’s mom Julie. First of all I love love love reading romance but finding people to chat with me about it, not so easy. It’s almost more fun than reading a and I find myself sitting in my car to finish listening and laughing along. I adore their realistic and sometimes chuckle at all of our mutually cringe-worthy romance moments. Their banter makes me think about what my mom and I might talk about if we read romance books together...could we do it? Honestly maybe they’ve given me hope. They sound like they love each other, they know their stuff, and they have a lot of fun. I’m addicted and I’ve been listening to their whole backlog and adding to my TBR list so I can listen to it even more! I wanted to write another review because it’s a few years later and my love for this show is still going strong.

I really enjoy Ellen and Mom’s banter and dynamic. They usually have a great selection of authors a and sub genres.

I started listening in the early stages of the pandemic when I was home all the time and needed a podcast to get into. Listening to Ellen and Mom was just wonderful. I have a bigger reading list because of this show and I really like how they take comments from the Facebook group and incorporate them in the show. Feels like a big book club.

I loved the episode with Dylan. IAD was my intro to romance and my fave series. I listen to your podcasts every week and love them all, but I most enjoy when you both love the book and have fun taking about it. Dylan was so fun and hilarious. I liked his views on the book coming from a fantasy background, and that he was very open and unashamed. You should definitely have him on again!

The thing I love most about this podcast, is the relationship between Ellen and her mom. I love that they aren't afraid to have honest conversations about relationships, life, and sexy times. And they are funny while doing it. They review mostly fun romances, so check this podcast out if that's your mood.

Highlights include discussion on a book’s “swooniest moment,” not to be confused with the “steamiest moment,” which is identified as well, and relatable asides about the awkwardness of listening to a particularly steamy audiobook while road-tripping with one’s brother/son in the backseat. Episodes also have letters/recordings from other listeners giving their opinions of the books, and…shoot, why haven’t I done that yet? I discovered this podcast after desperately looking for someone to talk about the Winston Brothers books with me (I’ve since convinced my sister and my mother to read them). I totally love it and will listen even if I haven’t read the book. Ellen and Mom have a great relationship and they are both so warm and funny. They’ve also built such a great community of listeners and I’ve found so many great new books and authors through this podcast.

Just discovered this podcast and what a fun listen! I’m going back through their episodes and first picking out books I’ve already read and a few I want to read. I absolutely love the mother/daughter dynamic. Really thoughtful reviews of books.

I have discovered this podcast in 2020 and have absolutely fallen in love with these two. Love the in-depth conversation and analysis of books. All round awesome to see people passionate about the genre. Love it. Highly recommend for a fun, entertaining listen for lovers of romance novels.

I thought I had reviewed the podcast not long after I found it because I loved it so much, but when I went looking, I discovered I hadn’t and I was like, “Yeah, I need to rectify that right now.” So here we are and once again I want to say that I completely love this podcast! Ellen and Mom always make me laugh and put a smile on my face. They’re wonderful and I love hearing their input on the books they cover. This is definitely one of my favorite pods and I’ll always be excited for the next episode!

I just love this podcast. I really enjoyed the podcast with Ryan. He sounds like just a nice guy. I am going to listen to the one with Ryan’s wife. I do jump around and don’t listen to the podcasts in order. I usually listen to the ones where I have read the books or going to read the books. But I will finish them all. Keep up the good work. You make me laugh and make me want to read new books I don’t know how you get all these books read. Good job

Ellen and Mom are a pleasure to listen to. I find myself reading books I wouldn’t normally pick up just so I can follow along with them. I like their mix of contemporary and historical romance books, and I appreciate that they always find a way to highlight the positive even when they didn’t particularly love a book.

Absolutely love Ellen and Mom. They are wonderful and super fun to listen to. Their conversations about these books are always so entertaining. You will find yourself laughing out loud in almost every episode. More, I love that they’re always being respectful, even if they don’t like the book. Can’t recommend them enough for romance readers/listeners out there.

I started listening to Ellen and her mom’s podcast a mere week ago. I have now listened to almost all of them as I play it on my drive to work, at work while I’m supposed to be working (shhh, don’t tell my boss), and the commute home. I barely remember any other podcast I used to listen to as this is definitely my favorite. I’m already planning on re-listening to be sure I catch all the recommendations mentioned. It’s so much fun listening to Ellen and her Mom recap and review romance books, as well as banter back and forth with each other. I’m an avid reader and listen to a few romance book podcasts, and this is one of my favorites! I like to hear what they think of books to either compare to what I’ve thought, or to find a new book to read. I usually listen while I’m in my car and feel like I’m sitting in on a book club. They have recently gone to a weekly format, so there’s more books to listen and learn about, as well as add to your TBR list. Definitely check it out!

I listen to a few romance novel podcasts, but this one is my favorite! I love the discussions between Ellen and her mom, the thought questions, and the laughs. I’ve gotten a lot of great book suggestions for myself, and a lot of funny discussion topics that I've shared with my mom and husband. I hope the ladies keep it up!

Love this podcast! I’m an avid romance reader and love listening to what the ladies think about the books I’ve read. I read mostly contemporary romance, so I enjoy that’s they’ve been adding some of those as of late. The mother/daughter dynamic is a lot of fun...I tried to get my mom to read along with me but she said “I’m not reading that ‘erotica’” 😂😂 oh well, I’ll have to leave it to Ellen and her mom for now. I found this podcast based an a favorite author’s recommendation. I listened to one episode, and ended up bingeing every episode! It really makes me wish my mom would read romance with me. I love all of the little mother daughter moments, and inside joke explanations. My favorite episodes were on The Hating Game, i felt like we were all fangirling together! I’m always counting down until the next episode :)

Hey ladies, Love your podcast. I wanted to recommend two slow burn romances. The first is From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon that is a historical romance (Italy, 1943) and also The Hot Shot by Kristen Callihan that is a contemporary romance set in New Orleans.

I love this podcast! It’s just like my mom and I discussing romances and I feel like they get into great, deep discussions.
