In today’s episode, we talked with Davin Youngs, a Chicago based singer, teacher, and sound guide. We learned about the art of sound baths - what they are (not an actual bath, in case you were wondering!), and their ability to take your mind to a different place than the everyday. Davin explains how his unique approach to sonic immersions is completely improvised, and how his intention is to hold the space for those who experience it to feel whatever they need to in that moment. In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Nicole explains her take on the sound bath she experienced with Davin. While it was definitely different out of the gates, she came to find the experience to be very calming. Shanna also talks about the sound bath she had forgotten about in nature on a yoga retreat. While both Shanna and Nicole were quite skeptical going in, they both now see the benefits.
