My dad’s anniversary is coming up, and every year I’m reminded how differently people handle grief. Some people want to be surrounded by family, noise, and conversation. I’ve learned I’m the opposite. I need quiet. I need space. I need time to sit with memories without feeling like I have to talk, explain, or hold anyone else’s emotions at the same time.

In this episode, I reflect on what it’s been like to grieve over the years, how grief changes but never fully disappears, and why I’ve stopped feeling guilty for needing solitude when I remember him. Not everyone grieves the same way—and that’s okay.
