In 1931, cinema witnessed the release of two monumental films, "Frankenstein" and "M," each pioneering in its own right and leaving a lasting imprint on the art of filmmaking. This episode explores how "Frankenstein" and "The Bride of Frankenstein" not only introduced audiences to a tormented monster but also set a new standard
for the horror genre that is reused even to this day. We look at how "M," a masterful exploration of a child murderer's psyche, influenced the portrayal of the character Gollum in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings."
