Needed Time Podcast

Needed Time

Will Healy & Rob Ryden
An 7-episode podcast during Lent hosted by Will Healy and Rob Ryden inviting the listener to reflect on the season historically devoted to spiritual discipline as a means of making ready for Easter. Lent is a time of slowing down, of saying “no” to some things in our lives that we might be opened up to other things--new insights, new awareness, new direction. Needed Time will feature music and guest interviews from a diverse group of folks reflecting on their own Lenten/spiritual disciplines. And the title - Needed Time - refers to our sense of needing God to come into whatever circumstances we’re experiencing. “Now is the needed time…” the lyric goes, and then prays for Jesus to “come by here, even if you won’t stay long.” It’s a song of aspiration—one that gives voice to our need of help in the difficulties of our everyday. In these times in our nation and world it seemed to us a timely message, one we can gather around and consider together. Each episode will be posted on Friday mornings, beginning February 19th, during the duration of the podcast. The podcast will be available on Spotify & Apple Podcasts.

Good Friday: Between Light & Shadow
Needed Time marks the most solemn day of the season with its Good Friday program. The heaviness of the occasion is played out beautifully with music from The Oh Hello's, Gregory Porter, Crooked Still, Common Hymnal and Red Mountain Church. Prayers from Laura Truman and Thomas Turner and a poem from Lucy Shaw complete the journey through this sobering Holy Friday.
