This week, Stauney talks all about Hilma Af Klint, a Swedish painter whose abstract paintings, a collection of 2000 works, were kept hidden (per her request) until 20 years after her death. Her mystic religious practices and divinely inspired painting techniques were unheard of and unknown at the time, leaving her as the earliest abstract painter known to humankind, outdating even Kandinsky himself who is often referred to as the pioneer of abstract art. Stauney and Sadie discuss this famous artist and the origins of her life's work.
