In this episode, Sadie introduces a gem of the Harlem Renaissance, Nora Holt! Holt was an American singer, composer, and music critic, who was born in Kansas and was actually the first African American to receive a master's degree in the United States. She is known for composing over 200 musical compositions that were stolen, as well as her wild social life which was often the talk of the town. She was married 5 times, performed across the world, and eventually was the first African American woman to be elected to the Music Critics Circle of New York.
