Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced in early June that the state will be offering up a slew of prizes to residents who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. All vaccinated residents are immediately eligible for the lottery-style drawing.

In this episode, KING 5 anchor Jessica Janner Castro takes a deeper look at the lottery. She spoke with Puget Sound University Professor Garrett Milam, Ph.D., about how the vaccine lottery is different from a traditional lottery, how it might change some people’s behavior, who is influenced by this kind of incentive, and why we often daydream about winning the big prize!
