With the power invested in me, I strive to bring this mini-video podcast episode to you for free.

My dear freebies! I hope you are doing splendidly. Today’s mini video podcast post is some commentary on my first ever published post!

We talk about how a recession affects more than just jobs and wallets, but way more.

In The Importance of Being Honest, this article is a formal trend prediction coming from a girl who has worked in the beauty industry for 5 years and has worked in marketing since 18 years old.

To respect your self-care and time, I wish to give you a debrief of what you would miss.

I value you guys and you after all, the true backbone of Substack, and it is you who carry half the sun, in a non-dictatorship way.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Recession is not an aesthetic; with it comes great stress for those who struggle. An economic recession hits everyone, but many harder. It’s the bitch slap that keeps on giving.

But why is this post free? and others not?

Well, I work my juicy booty off on some of these articles. It’s a lot of pressure as someone with a disability and with two full-time jobs (school & work/internship).

But it’s imperative that I have some of the good stuff available. It’s a tiresome game to find out which of the three monthly articles should be free. Hopefully, I will have enough free subs who would want to vote on it.

Since this is a casual debrief and recap, I thought it would be a mellow way of introducing you to me rather than just my content.

But why did I write this? Why is Recession Glamour so Important?

Why, it’s magic, of course. No, just kidding, but I will not deny that magic is real.

This article is good for those who work in economics, the beauty industry, marketing, etc. or for the lovely people who love to learn about what the cottage core and office siren Internet trends have in common.

A recession is a significant time of economic hardship, and the beauty industry outwardly reflects that.

I constantly say that the beauty industry is a small gas giant with a heavy gravitational pull that we can examine to explain contemporary anthropological phenomena along with other things that help us understand mass communication, whether verbal or nonverbal.

It builds awareness and self-reflection that will hopefully make us smile, feel seen or help others examine the concern in a lighthearted way.

This article is an overthinking trend prediction that could be relevant for 18 months (like the Great Recession of 2007-2009) or three to four months from COVID lockdown.

see you on Substack.

xoxo,
