I applied for biochemistry this April for 2021 entry; i.e. months after the UCAS deadline (which is actually the deadline for equal consideration). I applied to the University of Nottingham, Liverpool, Warwick and Lancaster University. Except Lancaster, I met and exceeded all the grade requirements and received offers from all four (including Lancaster). Initially I wanted to apply to the University of Glasgow as well but later withdrew my application. I am reading out my personal statement that I used on my UCAS application but you must know that this is my second undergraduate degree and that I am a mature student. The personal statement of a student just finishing sixth form (or after taking a gap year) will look somewhat different.
