In this episode of Anatomy of a Song, I revisit MAMAMOO through "Decalcomanie," "Destiny," "I Miss You," "Paint Me" and "Where Are We Now."

There's no denying the quality of the individual singers. Every member brings exceptional tone, confidence and control, making MAMAMOO one of K-pop's strongest collections of vocalists.

What surprised me, however, was how rarely the harmonies became the standout moment. While the lead lines consistently impressed me, I often found myself wanting richer, more adventurous vocal blending that matched the calibre of the individual voices.

It left me asking an interesting question: is MAMAMOO at their best as four outstanding soloists rather than four natural harmonisers?
