You know those people you don’t like … do you really know what it’s like to be them?

Do you see yourself as alone in the world, or part of a greater whole?

Did you know the current political climate – which has you either upset or checked out – can be liberating for you?

I was so excited for this interview with Charles Eisenstein.

After spending the last few days really diving into his work in preparation to talk with him, I woke up at 5am this morning my heart and mind just aflame with inspiration.

I love what Charles is speaking into the world through his books, his articles, his live presentations. Apparently so does Oprah Winfrey, who recently released her own podcast interview with Charles.

Charles’ core message – as I experience it – is the acknowledgment of what the great Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh calls our “interbeing” … the awareness and practice of our connectedness to all things, and to each other … what I love in particular about Charles’ work, is he brings that beautiful spiritual notion down to earth in ways us humans can actually work with in our everyday lives and relationships. Charles is a brilliant mind connected to a deeply inspired heart, all held inside the sturdy bones of a grounded and humble man. He graduated from Yale University with degrees in mathematics and philosophy, and is the author of 5 books, including The Ascent of Humanity and The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible.

I decided during our conversation to make this part 1 of our exploration together – and he agreed – because there is so much in his deep ocean of wisdom I’m eager to explore, and even 60 minutes in I felt like I was still just doggy paddling on the surface.
