At Maranatha we are a Baptist church with a heart for making a difference in Mattoon, IL and the surrounding area. 
The word ”Maranatha” comes from an ancient language, and it means ”OUR LORD IS COMING”.  Everything we do is centered around that very fact. 
We are about building individuals and families with CHRIST as the FOUNDATION. At Maranatha, you will find fellowship and COMMUNITY with believers who are passionate about following Jesus.  But it doesn’t stop there. We believe that church isn’t just a ”participation optional” event. God has commanded us to IMPACT the CULTURE by gaining ground for His Kingdom daily.
