The Holy Spirit speaks by quickening our understanding of God's Word, but this requires genuine relationship rather than fleshly effort. True spiritual discernment comes from fellowship with the Holy Spirit, not from harder work or study. When we pursue God for who He is rather than what He can do, we develop the intimacy needed to recognize His voice clearly in every area of life.
