for the indoor 800m, and later that same year, he set the American Record in the outdoor 800m running 2:12, a record that stood for many years until Nolan Shaheed finally broke it. He was inducted into the USATF Masters Hall of Fame in 2005.

Sid is an elder statesman in the masters running community and has been a mentor to many great masters runners over the years.
