It is our pleasure to welcome Kari Moffat to the Marcus Oldham AgTalk podcast.

Kari is the first of a series of ex-Marcus Oldham students who I will be profiling on this podcast from time to time as part of the Future Leader Series.

The reason I am doing this is that I believe that agriculture today is one of the most exciting industries to be involved in and I want to showcase some of the opportunities out there for young people in this industry.

Kari completed a Bachelor of Business (Agriculture) in 2017 and a Diploma of Equine Management in 2013 at Marcus Oldham.

Originally from Northern Victoria, since leaving Marcus, Kari has made a career in the live export industry. Her current role sees here as the Animal Welfare Assurance Manager for AUSTREX. AUSTREX is a leader in the global livestock industry and a pioneer of the livestock export trade.

Kari is also the Chair and Co-Founder of the Young Livestock Exporters Network and is a mentor partner of the Graeme Acton Beef Mentoring Programme. Kari is driven to bridge what she sees as a fundamental gap in understanding the difference in cultural values between Australia and our exporting destination.

Most recently Kari was recognised as a winner of the 2021 CCA NAB Agribusiness Rising Champion Initiative. This program is designed to foster the leadership and business skills of emerging beef industry leaders aged between 21-40.
