I wanted to celebrate today because I reached 10,000
followers on Twitter. To be fair, it took me roughly 5 years to getsuch a huge following and I know you guys are constantly wonderingabout how to succeed in this sometimes confusing and overwhelmingsocial media world! I have a couple of tips for you today on how toproperly leverage social media and get those results. One of the main problems I see is that very few
people are consistently publishing content on their social mediaprofiles. With annyyy marketing you're doing, you have to beconsistent. Do not approach this as a 'one and done' type ofproject.Another main problem I see in someone's social media
platform is that it isn't focused. There's so much random andunrelated content that gets published on there. You want to reallyhave a vision of who would be interested in what you're producingand cater to that. Focus on that ideal client, day in and day out.Be crystal clear on: Who you are, what solutions you offer, and whyyou love it. Create posts that speak to them in their language, notyours.Social media is not a short term strategy. I mean,
looking at my example, you can see it took me 5 years to get towhere I am today. You need the mindset that this is long term. It'sa marathon, not a sprint.
Extra Tip:
You don't need to be on every social media platform.
When you figure out who your audience is and where they hang outthe most (LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc), you can stick to that oneplatform and focus all your attention and resources on there.
