It's getting boring
I just want to hear maker talk, not how David wants to get healthy. David would buy snake oil from a hippie at a gas station.

Such a wealth of knowledge.
What a great collection of knowledge and experience.

Wishing for More
I always look forward to this show by three guys at the intersection of making stuff and creating online content. Throughout the show they mention interesting resources and talk about “putting links in the show notes“ but I can’t find any show notes or links anywhere in the iTunes app or on the episode website. I’d love to be able to find their recommendations without having to rewind, and maybe it would be easier for them to just spell out the name of the author or resource within the podcast so we can find what they’re talking about more easily, but overall I’m happy to be wishing for more rather than begging for less.

My absolute favorite!!!
I’m so far behind in Making It I’m listening to episode 318 as I’m writing this. Trying hard not to fall apart for all Jimmy’s grief from losing and amazing friend. I’m so glad I started listening again. I’ve been struggling in my personal life lately and you guys always seem to make me feel better. So thank you for an amazing podcast.

This podcast has run its course.
After 8 years or so they’ve run out of topics to talk about. Jimmys stories are typically the highlight for me. Bob and Dave circle jerking about not liking current trends and modern music is boring. Those two saying certain content just shouldn’t be created yet One creates lame ads for torches on YouTube, and the other creates TikToks after taking an hour long class at a convention. It’s quite hilarious.

This podcast is like therapy for me
I have been listening to this podcast for about a year or so, and now it has become probably my favorite podcast. I follow all three hosts on IG/YouTube and really enjoy those channels as well. But the podcast has become like therapy for me. Whenever I am struggling as a maker or just in my personal life, listening to these guys talk about their struggles helps me realize I am not alone in my struggles. Seriously great podcast! Keep it up!

A little Gratitude?
I like these guys and this cast. I like hearing their conversations in depth. I’m now hearing too much ruminating about having to do stuff you don’t want to do. As an RN I can tell you, we all do stuff we don’t want to do in our jobs. Might I suggest you take a pause from this topic or at least balance it with a bit more gratitude for having created a job I think you love that also helps supports your family.

I love this show! I started at episode 1 when they were in the high 200’s. It’s so satisfying to listen to the latest episode while tinkering in my shop! Definitely worth a listen.

The maker life makes you fuller
Many trendy words could describe this very popular trend of “maker” and DIY culture in the US. As a European cabinet maker living here almost 20 years, I couldn’t imagine reducing the meaning of what the three hosts bring to your earbuds. This podcast is wide in range and deep in self exploration. Welding, woodworking, electrical or other resin casting techniques are literally just a substrate for a holistic life perspective. The action of imagining, drawing/drafting, cutting materials and assembling each layers towards a final product is literally a metaphor for life at its root base. The “Making it” podcast is the catalyst that hardens all mental juices into a fully solid and tangible idea billet , for all of us to shape, forge or sculpt into what ever we envision on our own. Thank you for the inspirational banalities that anchor all my LA commutes, or hours of sanding lumber in the shop, also other sleepless nights when I struggle compartmentalize furniture or cabinet schematics in my head to rest and could use the raspy Jimmy lullaby tones, the warm and smooth Bob’s voice over swagger or that positive David’s breathy excitement that lets me know, I am doing just fine. Much love guys! Sandro Chiavaro Los Angeles CA

I like this show!
I started listening to this show a few months ago after finding it from “I like to make stuff”. I hadn’t watched a Dave video until his electric piano rebuild. Man, he doesn’t look anything like I pictured…

Love the show BUT….
I listen to the show to learn about whatever subject that is put out there, or just random conversation. What I don’t want to listen to is all of the talk about COVID. I can get that from the news. Every time it’s talk about for more than 30 seconds I have to turn it off.

These guys are awesome!
Been following all 3 gentlemen for years on YouTube and have started listening to them in the recent months. Can’t get enough of this group honestly I’ve been going back through their catalog and loving all of it. They are random and concise at the same time. To me it’s like listening to my friends and I just chat about anything and everything from life to getting a recap of the last week in their shops or farms or garages. Can’t recommend this podcast enough!

These are the three most handsome men in podcasting
In all seriousness, this podcast is my favorite. It really feels like hanging out with these guys and they’re super fun.

Talking shop
Is this my favorite podcast that straddles the lines between comfort, maker advice, and general inspiration/mindset? I think so, yeah. When I’m in my home shop, I like the sounds of others talking shop. Not sure if the trio knows how welcome they make people feel… or at least I feel welcome, as if I truly have a seat at their collective table. Thanks for the content from so many angles!

Never fails to entertain
These three are the pillars of the “make” movement. Each week they never fail to deliver an interesting point of view and humorous approach to making and craft. Three different perspectives that inspire one to just go build something! Thank you for the years of entertainment!

It’s like hanging out with maker-friends
I look forward to listening to this podcast each week- not just for the nuggets of maker inspiration and how-to’s, but to listen to these guys hang out, crack jokes, and talk through what being a maker and YouTube-er is about.

Inspiring!
I watch their channels as soon as they get published. I may not be interested in everything they’re making but they never fail to inspire. This podcast is an extension of that inspiration.

I have went back and listened to every single episode made. Weather you are a maker or not, I’m sure you can find something to love about these guys yourself.

Worth it
Seriously. You get to know these guys and get invested in their real lives. Not celebrities or comics self promoting. Just shop class guys talking real stuff over morning coffee.

Good fun hanging out with my buddies that don’t know me
We all watch all of you because it’s you not the project, do what makes you happy and we’ll keep watching and listening.

Peek behind curtain
I enjoy this weekly conversation between three highly successful creators in the maker space. You get a peek behind the curtain as they discuss their; highs & lows, successes & failures, and what they have learned along the way. It’s inspiring, realistic, and refreshing to hear about; social media struggles, where project inspirations comes from, mourning the loss of a friend, and anywhere else the the past week has taken them.

Like sitting at the Cool Kids Table
There's no better way for a 'Maker' / 'Maker - Wannabe' / 'Shop-Guy-Girl' to spend time listening to something, especially on a long drive or commute. I may be the only listener like this, but I am for the most part non-social except in environments where the conversations revolve around 'shop stuff', so being able to listen in on what The Cool Kids are talking about is really nice. I had the opportunity to meet Jimmy Diresta at a meet & greet in Zanesville and really appreciated his 'genuine-ness'. I was sitting at table shooting the breeze with some folks and someone said, 'Hey, mind if we join you guys?' - it was Jimmy Diresta AND MrPete222. I'd first come across him on TV when living in China watching re-runs of Dirty Money and Trash2Cash, then found on Youtube after moving back to the US. Genuinely a 'Nice Guy' that gets right to the point. Please keep up the good work. My only suggestion is to repeat the channel names of the folks you're watching a few times, as I almost never read the show notes, and by the time I get out of the car and on to the next thing I forget the names of channels mentioned. Thanks again for the three of you letting me vicariosly 'Sit at the Cool Kids Table'. Would definitely like to meet Bob & David too.

Fantastic
A great way to casually get into the mind of the three best YouTube creators/woodworkers. And Bob, I listen to this and watch your YouTube because of you. Not because of the thing.

Great to hear the theory and thought behind the making and creativity. Thanks guys.

Inspired
I highly recommend you not only listen to this podcast, but follow these great guys on social media and YouTube. These three gentlemen are a huge inspiration to makers and especially up and coming makers. They are proof that following your passion will fulfill your life in every way possible. And it’s doesn’t hurt that they also make you feel like you could easily sit down with them and have a beer or bourbon and guaranteed to have a great time.

Listener Questions Episode 33
These guys have creativity, lots of knowledge, and personality. I listen to one of their episodes every day. I started at episode 1, and I’m going straight through. Their excitement about what they do really comes through. What inspires me most about them is the genuine way they share struggles and ways they overcome obstacles. Great shows. And great YouTube videos.

My favorite podcast to listen to!
Found out about this podcast from Punished Props a little over a year ago and I not only keep up with all the current episodes but I am in the middle of going through all of the old ones from the beginning. There is so much good information and inspiration to get from these guys it’s amazing, definitely 3 of my favorite makers.

Down to earth guys who really do inspire
I’ve been a listener for a long time and honestly they get me through my grass cutting and my clothes folding times. I really enjoy just listening to their banter back and forth. They really do inspire you to want to move forward with whatever you are doing - it doesn’t even have to be woodworking related!

A Weekly Pick Me Up
Making It is the podcast I look forward to each week. Bob Clagett, David Piccuito, and Jimmy DiResta are three of my favorite makers. You never know exactly what they will be talking about but it will be interesting, enlightening, and/or inspirational. Many times all three. You’ll learn about what they’re doing and what they might have learned. Great gems of wisdom. And while all this is happening you will feel like you’re sitting around with your best buddies and having a great time. Just makes you feel good.

Informative, Relatable, and Fun
I’ve been listening to David, Bob, and Jimmy every week since they started Making It. I started because I didn’t know too many people who were into the Maker Community and hoped I’d glean some ideas for stuff to try. That certainly happened, but what keeps me coming back every week is how relatable they are, and that comes from how well and willingly the guys share their backgrounds, goals, motivations, struggles, and successes. I can’t recall an episode where I didn’t at least once react to something (sometimes a good thing, sometimes not so much) any one of the guys said with a “Yup, me too”. And throughout, the guys make it fun. They are there for each other, for the listeners, and for the community clearly because they really want to be, and I think that is generous and wonderful. I hope they keep meeting up for years to come, as I plan to show up every week to listen in. Give it a try.

Most inspirational and goofy makers everever
I absolutely love these dudes. The podcast and their YT channels. Honestly if they talked about how to draw a line, I would still listen.

Great podcast to kill the monotony of sanding
I find myself tuning in to the making it podcast weekly, the guys consistently deliver with good advice, business or life. They also don’t take things to seriously which makes for an enjoyable listen. You can always rely on Bob giving some fatherly advice, David giving a great quote, and Jimmy... well Jimmy will bring something great every week but there is never any telling what it may be. Overall if you’re a maker or artist no matter the craft there is knowledge shared here that truly is helpful.
