People living with dementia are prescribed different medications along the dementia journey. Two categories of medications are commonly prescribed at the beginning and middle of the journey: acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (like Aricept) and memantine. In this episode, I explain how these medications work, when they are usually prescribed, and if (or when) they can be stopped.
