<3 This week on Magic Portals we hear from Garlands, the debut studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins, released 1 September 1982 on 4AD, It peaked in the UK Independent Top 5, and received support from BBC Radio 1 radio host John Peel.Garlands is the only album with original bassist Will Heggie. Gordon Sharp of Cindytalk provided backup vocals on “Dear Heart”, “Hearsay Please”, and “Hazel”.Cat People is a 1942 horror film produced by Val Lewton and directed by Jacques Tourneur. DeWitt Bodeen wrote the original screenplay, which was based on Val Lewton’s short story The Bagheeta, published in 1930. The film stars Simone Simon, Kent Smith, Jane Randolph and Tom Conway.
