The Gertrude Star are a band synonymous with East Belfast, 'the Gert' have been a part of the band scene for 60 years now and celebrate that anniversary in Northern Irelands centenary year.
They are one of the largest Blood & Thunder bands in the country and are also one of the most innovative as well, with a style that is uniquely theirs.
I am joined on the podcast today by the Gert chairman, Peter Dempster and we talk everything from first parades, to stand out moments and what's coming up in the future. A great conversation that I know you are going to enjoy.
A big thank you to everyone who listened to episode 1, we had an amazing response to that.
Next week we have Cloughern Young Conquerors on the podcast and we are joined by their band captain for a conversation about all things bands orientated, so make sure you check that one out as well.
Thank you to our patrons who contribute to the podcast financially every month, your support is greatly appreciated. If you would like to support the podcast go to patron.com/madetoparade
