Built in 1886 and closed in 1990, Mansfield Reformatory has had a lot of time to build up some grisly history. From inmates who were crammed into spaces like sardines to guards who tried to ease a bit of the tension, Mansfields' story is nothing short of colorful...Maybe dark is the word we're looking for. Regardless of whether its colorful, dark or both, Mansfield has earned its' place in the world as one of the most haunted places in North America. Attracting people from all over who seek to experience its' beautiful architecture, dreary stories, and novelty worth (Shawshank Redemption, anyone?) the reformatory gone prison has intrigued many ghost hunters and tourists alike since it was closed down in the 1990's. Sit with us and have a listen as we talk about the tragic fates of those who both worked and lived in the prison in this episode of Macab at Midnight!
