Better late than never, here's our episode on the king of gems, rubies!  We're a little delayed since we're still packing up our house in preparation for our move abroad.  Don't worry though, the science, the fun and the glamour will follow us across the Atlantic.   On this episode we discuss the differences between rubies and pink sapphires, we rubies are so good for making lasers and the difference between rubies grown in marble and those grown in basalt.  We also delve into how rubies can be used to monitor radiation dosage for cancer therapy.  Of course we also have our helpful glossary of scientific  terms and a fun fact for your next cocktail party.
