Beth Dickey enjoyed a long career focused on the U.S. space program, first as a member of the press corps covering crewed and uncrewed missions launched from Cape Canaveral in the 1980s and 1990s, and later as a member of NASA’s communications team handling media relations. She retired from NASA in 2020 and missed it so much she accepted an offer to return to the agency in a temporary consulting capacity, working part-time in strategic communications planning.
