His master's voice, Rodrigo Toro MadridMeet the residents, @co-production Lumpen Station, january 2023 For the residency I propose a narrative divided in three chapters with sound elements that will involve experimentation with analog and mechanical recorded media: antique and modern gramophone records, handmade recordings, intervened record players, along with spoken word.In each chapter I’ll narrate personal stories that will relate memories from me and my family and diverse sorts of machinery or technology present on them (either real or fictitious). My interest relays on the following premise: physical media distorts a little bit with each play, as well as our memories are always different. Travelling to the past through obsolete media opens gates to alternate lifes, provides different plots and summons unexpected spirits.
