I discuss the first of three pillars I believe are fundamental ideas of libertarianism. Those pillars are: self-ownership, the non-aggression principle and freedom of association. Rather than aim for a philosophically bullet-proof argument, I instead aim to help non-libertarians understand why we libertarians can be so unmovable in our position. In the process, I hope to provide fellow libertarians a different way to present our ideas to those we meet.
