Nobody is exempt from jealousy and hatred from others, we are all subject to its cruelty during life. It hurts even more to have a friend or a family member who is jealous.  Because when it comes from a friend or loved one, we take it more personally.
But what are jealousy and rivalry? Jealousy generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, and concern over a relative lack of possessions or safety. Jealousy can consist of one or more emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness,  or disgust. Wikipedia Rivalry is the state of two people or groups engaging in a lasting competitive relationship. Rivalry is the "against each other" spirit between two competing sides. The relationship itself may also be called "a rivalry", and each participant or side is a rival to the other. Genesis 37:3 reads, "Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors."
Cain disregarded God’s admonition and warning. Instead, he took out his anger on his righteous brother, Abel.
