I met Sergio a year or so ago when he began his Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults journey. He would find my offbeat humor funny, and we became friends. But, as it normally goes, we rarely had a chance to really share our lives. Sergio teaches at Christian Brothers High School, and is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. In this episode we meet Maria Balakshin. Maria wears many hats at the Cathedral. She is on the Pastoral Parish Council, she staffs the front desk, a couple of times a week, at the cathedral offices and she works closely with Father Michael O’Reilly on the Stewardship Advisors. There are many people that operate behind the scenes at our parish. Without them we could not function properly. One of these people is Deacon Gary Brys. He is our Business Manager. Although he is not technically a parishioner (he is a deacon at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Roseville, CA) he is very much a part of our parish.

In our first episode of the fourth season, we visit with Manolito Jaldon. Manolito is a lector here at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, and also is employed at Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento.

Our guests for this episode are Steve and Karen Nikos-Rose. Steve and Karen are both choristers for the Cathedral Choir. Karen works in media relations and has before that worked as a journalist. Besides singing tenor in the choir, Steve is the music leader and a catechist for the Cathedrals Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults team. Andrea Martin-Borges is the lead person for the Welcoming Team at the Cathedral. She has a vibrant faith, a love of God and God’s people. Although she lives in Winters, CA, she has become a vital member of our parish family. You most likely will find her welcoming people for our 10:00 AM Mass.
