A place of incredible cultural diversity, Brooklyn NY boasts a population of 2.65 million people. It would rank the 4th largest City in the U.S. if it stood on it's own. In the beginning, it was an agricultural Dutch settlement called Breuckelen meaning broken land or marshes. In 1883 it was connected to Manhattan by the eponymously named bridge.
