Today I'm exploring tarry feelings and practicing Hiply today with Brinley. Listen for the following hiply tools, temper tantrum 1 min journaling technique, the Inner peace self that is here to heal and love on all your parts, because what you resist persists. Enjoy the show.
She shares that she doesn't always have confidence in her appearance. The ruminating is the epitome of Tar.
She loves walking the dog and bilateral movement to create positive energy and experiences. Yoga also helps everything, and so does journaling. Just getting the tarry thoughts out of your head?
Oversharing and vulnerability hangover can feel tarry. She is noticing that oversharing comes from a need to not be lonely and feel loved. Parts can become polarized or blend with the Inner Peace Self. All the inner children parts just want to feel seen and hear and loved and the Inner Peace Self can spontaneously provide that and help heal. If we fight with it, it just get's bigger and that's what I call tar. Because you're judging the part and it's getting defensive.
We talk about being so judgmental and shamy of our body, which is unfortunate. Brinley is frustrated with her stomach, and she also realizes it's an amazing strong powerful part of her body. I let her know that she has a part that is carrying the female cultural burden and expectation of having a flat stomach. What if it's meant to be healthy? I both love my stomach and still wish I had less of a stomach.
As Mama Hiply I get to mother all my younger parts, inner children and those around me.
It's all simple in theory and so hard to do in real life.
Lazy girl workout, lazy girl journaling. Doable and bite sized hiply things to focus on. Hiply mindful hikes.
Brinley's biggest take away is paying attention to those tarry parts and withholding judgment and addressing them in doable, bite sized pieces.
