My guest, Debra Minneman, shares her compelling story of disaster and tragedy as a former substance abuser as well as her triumph. After several years of struggling with substance abuse, she is a now a “hope dealer” instead of a “neighborhood dope dealer”. She is a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADCII) with The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia, an international substance abuse counselor (ICAACD), and a CARES (Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist). Her latest practice is called SAS – Sober Assisted Services, where she provides both clinical substance abuse services and peer support services that include sober transportation, sober assistant, sober coaching, individual sessions, group support and advocacy for recovery.
