This week the #LetMeSipteam are a man down but don't worry we've chanelled our powers from the Great Conjunction 🪐 as prepare for the Christmas period 🎄🎅🏾
Topics in this week's pod include typical Christmas preparations, adoption and whether people's preferences should be respected
We begin by asking ask how do you choose your Christmas gifts? Are you one for the sentimental or do you take your picks from an Xmas List? How much would you spend on a gift or does it depend on the recipient? And have you ever 'recycled' a gift?
We also give our thoughts on what dishes are on the Christmas essentials list? Is Christmas the time for everyone to help out in the kitchen, or can too many cooks spoil the broth? And as a mum or wife, is it important for your personal household to love your food?
In the next segment the team break down the app Clubhouse...sorry Android users 👾
We then ask why some people see black women as an open target for abuse? And what can we do as individuals to pay homage and give due respect to our Nubian Queens 👑🤰🏿
Later in the discussion we give our thoughts on adoption. Is it an option of last resort or is it a serious consideration when looking to start a family? We ask what factors would influence your decision to adopt, and what criteria you would look for? And would you be against contact with the biological parents?
Finally we ask if there is anything intrinsically wrong with having or voicing your preference? At what point does making decisions based on personal preference turn into discrimination? And is it normal to internalise a feeling of rejection when we are not preferred?
