Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about Forgiveness. I can't tell you how hard this topic is to talk about because with forgiveness a lot of people think that you know I forgave you and so that's the end of it, but it's really not because forgiveness is as they say all about you. What a lot of people don't understand is when you are walking and forgiveness, not only do you forgive the person who did whatever they did to you but you have to forgive yourself for allowing it to happen. Now, there are circumstances where it's very difficult to do that especially when it's around something where you were a child and you had no control over the situation whatsoever and someone did something to you, whether that's physical mental or sexual abuse and those scars run deep and the pain associated with him runs deep as well. Forgiving a person who did something to you in that capacity is a very difficult thing to do but it is necessary for you to heal. Also, part of that is forgiving yourself because you have to understand you were not the person who did anything, you were innocent. So you have nothing to forgive yourself for in those instances. Try to have the compassion necessary to be able to forgive even in those painful times in that traumatic situation where you had no control and somebody did something so heinous to you because forgiveness is necessary. That is the key to letting go of something that will hold on to you for as long as you don't forgive it. I encourage you today to think about the areas in your life where forgiveness needs to reign. First forgive yourself, stop blaming yourself for things you have no control over and then forgive those who may have done those things to you that just broke her heart. Remember, forgiveness is really about you. Let's forgive today!
