A clan was a group of families that were all related to each other (a tribe).- Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was born into the Hāshim clan which was part of the Quraysh tribe. - This was the ruling tribe of Makkah. Muhammad was the last and the best of all the Prophets of Allaah.
