Show notes
This is the first session of LaidBlack, scheduled intentionally on July 4th. Prior to the start of the Zoom audio recording, we delved into Frederick Douglass' "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" and the two sides this traditional American holiday has to Black and non-Black citizens. Unfortunately, this episode will miss that important introduction but I recommend listening to NPR's Rendition from Frederick Douglass' descendants to fill yourself in.
