It’s true that leaders should take their leadership roles seriously, but not in a way that makes them feel godlike or leads to hubris (excessive pride that comes before the fall). Remember, writes Aurelius, “You've made enough mistakes yourself . . . You're just like [those you lead].” And if you’ve managed to avoid some of the mistakes your followers make, then recognize that you have the potential to falter and do EVEN worse.
