All year long, we have been talking about dusting off the ol’ recording rig and doing a new song.  It’s been a reminder of what was so special to us about the Song-A-Week project; the commitment and discipline involved in actually doing something instead of just talking about it all the time in a “wouldn’t it be nice” sort of way.

June 14 was our 4 year anniversary, and to celebrate, we decided to go to a wine tasting, get a bottle of wine and some Italian food, cuddle up in the living room with our food and wine, and record a song.  I had been fiddling around with the uke lately, (which also had been gathering a bit of dust), and Kristin had run across this song, which you might recognize from a classic Steve Martin movie.  This is interestingly the first song we’ve recorded without multiple mics, overdubbing, mixing or anything fancy like that; just sittin’ around the recorder, me, my wife, and my uke.  And the cat.
