Explore the rich tapestry of Sabah, a region known not only for its ecological diversity but also for its cultural and ethnic vibrancy. Boasting several dozen ethnic and sub-ethnic groups, Sabah has captured the national imagination with its kaleidoscope of communities. From the hinterland groups under the Kadazan-Dusun-Murut umbrella to the Tausug people of the East coast and many more, all fall under the expansive category of indigenous peoples.

However, Sabah's cultural landscape extends beyond its indigenous groups, including the well-known Chinese and Indian communities that have woven themselves into the fabric of Malaysia. Surprisingly, Sabah is also home to a substantial population of non-indigenous ethnic groups, specifically those of Pakistani and Afghani descent. Predominantly of Pashtun (Pathan) origin, these communities have seamlessly integrated into Sabah's culturally diverse ecosystem over generations. This blending has given rise to a unique fusion of Muslim, Malay, and Pakistani-Afghani culture, which has endured through many generations.

Catch Haffisz and Adi, on Kopitiam Council will delve deep into this fascinating group that has not only established itself but has become an intrinsic and enriching part of Sabahan life. Join them as they uncover the stories, traditions, and contributions of this unique community that has added another layer to the cultural mosaic of Sabah.
